The Cowboy Ball and Dance Hall is Friday night, March 12, following the rodeo. Everyone is invited to Margarita's Restaurant next door to the rodeo on No. Caballeros St. Proceeds from this party benefit the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue. This is an annual event that should not be missed, as it features Nashville veteran Jann Browne and her show band.

A singer/songwriter whose eclectic body of work has embraced both retro-styled honky tonk and tough, bluesy lyrical introspections, Jann Browne is an artist with the talent to craft a mainstream success -- and the guts and integrity to walk away from Nashville when she grew uncomfortable with the music industry. You probably remember her chart-topping hits "You Ain't Down Home" and "Louisville."
